All polls in January in #Ecuador (like 1 shown below) put @ecuarauz the Correaist candidate in lead going into Feb 7 presidential election - & when you average all polls possibly on the way to 1rst round win.

Big private media always hated and attacked Correa. but Moreno made sure that public media quickly echoed them on that, so that Moreno could pursue a pro-US, pro oligarch agenda. Four years of media monoculture helped Moreno persecute Correa & his allies
Correaists have been jailed -including elected elected ones like Jorge Glas & Paola Pabon; others driven into exile (Ricardo Patiño, Gabriela Rivadeniera). Correa himself can't go back to Ecuador or he'd be jailed. They have not been allowed to register their own political party
Correaists are running thru an alliance with already existing parties - one of which was then banned from participating -& that maneuver almost kept @ecuarauz - the fucking front runner - off the ballot for this election!
The western media loved Moreno. His cynical & tyrannical behavior (including his expulsion of #Assange from the embassy in London) was greeted with applause or silence.
