Over the next few weeks, I’m going to walk through some of my favorite off-season buys & sells

I’ll be starting by looking at the WR position, & specifically @ 4 data sets:

aDot, YAC, Target % and Catch %

Today’s WR: Corey Davis. But is he a buy or sell? Let’s dive in
After years of disappointment littered with glimpses of talent left unused, Corey Davis came back to life in 2020

Davis finished as the WR30, one spot ahead of Chris Godwin and one behind Tyler Boyd (who we’ve already covered)

But where did he finish in aDot, YAC, T% & C%?
Davis finished in the top 24 of both aDot and R%. So he was targeted deep and caught a good percentage of those passes

Who else is in this group?

No one! Davis stands alone

So, what do we do with this? What does it mean going into 2021?
Davis also finished WR25 in T%, one spot away from the top 24 finish.

His teammate AJ Brown finished 5th, leaving too few targets for Davis to crack the top24

Had Davis finished one spot higher, he would have joined a group that was also made up of just one member: Will Fuller
What does that new group tell us about players?

It means they are targeted deep a lot… And they catch most of them!

Who wouldn’t sign up for a super efficient deep ball receiver with lots of opportunity?

But can this continue into 2021?
Heading into the season TEN declined Davis’s fifth year option, meaning he will be an unrestricted FA this off-season

As he enters FA, most teams would offer more targets for Davis

At 6’3” 209, the former 5th overall pick has the size and speed (4.5) to be the number 1 option
A change of scenery, an offense that is more pass heavy and a # 1 workload are in the horizon

Only four players in the league were larger target hogs than AJ Brown

Virtually anywhere he goes Davis will have a larger T%, and given his efficiency deep, elite fantasy production
🚨 Buy Corey Davis 🚨

✅High efficiency deep

✅New team, likely more pass heavy

✅More targets w/o AJ Brown

✅Only 26

✅Prototypical size, speed, draft capital
