Ehlers-Danlos Weird Medical Devices Thread ahoy! I've had a lot of luck with this pillow. It fixed my shoulder that had been badly subuxed for decades after a car accident. It's great for the schneck area. https://www.amazon.com/Shoulder-Cervical-Traction-Alignment-Chiropractic/dp/B07QSFJ8S2/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=neck+pillow+stretch&qid=1611877278&sr=8-5
This back stretcher helps when things get out of whack in my back. (Not my hips though.) It's super comfy. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FSCCX1P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This acupressure mat is ok? I haven't used it much- it's pretty poky at first but that feeling wears off. Mostly it's hard on my hips to lie in the correct position. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZYJBDKF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But my hips and SI joints and pelvis are a WRECK. I've given up on PT after years of trying, and I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user when I leave the house. I'm searching the Amazon aisles for a device to help put my pelvis back together.
I have to go into a meeting but I'll be back with intriguing options.
@lillydancyger suggests this device. https://twitter.com/lillydancyger/status/1354940052296650755
This wooden thing with balls likes like it would be very uncomfortable. But it's adjustable and works on different places in addition to the lower back/pelvis area. https://www.amazon.com/Release-Personal-Massage-Trigger-Physical/dp/B08FY88FZX/ref=pd_sbs_20?pd_rd_w=x0CsR&pf_rd_p=3ec6a47e-bf65-49f8-80f7-0d7c7c7ce2ca&pf_rd_r=4A1EE6NXBT5RTXB9GRG3&pd_rd_r=c65275de-c8e2-4473-a7d1-3e0e4cee3615&pd_rd_wg=Hzvhl&pd_rd_i=B08FY88FZX&psc=1
The wooden ball thingy has excellent reviews- lots of people with fibro use it for pain relief, but not seeing a lot about hip and pelvis alignment.
HipsFromHell suggests a SI belt. I've never personally had luck with one but lots of people love them. https://twitter.com/RaggedyAnneEDS/status/1354947801470402560
*an. DAMMIT.
I am strongly considering buying this and seeing if it helps release a lot of the super tight muscles. But it's $$$ https://www.amazon.com/Pelvic-Clock%C2%AE-Exercise-Device-Chronic/dp/B017RTE16A
This terrifying device is a no from me. (Check out the video.)
Also to use it you have to be in shape enough to get into those positions. My CSF-leaky body isn't doing it. https://www.amazon.com/BODY-Specifically-Designed-Abdominal-Massages/dp/B0841TLCX4/ref=pd_sbs_2?pd_rd_w=x0CsR&pf_rd_p=3ec6a47e-bf65-49f8-80f7-0d7c7c7ce2ca&pf_rd_r=4A1EE6NXBT5RTXB9GRG3&pd_rd_r=c65275de-c8e2-4473-a7d1-3e0e4cee3615&pd_rd_wg=Hzvhl&pd_rd_i=B0841TLCX4&psc=1

I'm also considering this rather than the Pelvic Clock linked above. https://www.amazon.com/OPTP-Pelvic-Rocker-Core-Trainer/dp/B07NPZ5VL4/ref=pd_sbs_1?pd_rd_w=x0CsR&pf_rd_p=3ec6a47e-bf65-49f8-80f7-0d7c7c7ce2ca&pf_rd_r=4A1EE6NXBT5RTXB9GRG3&pd_rd_r=c65275de-c8e2-4473-a7d1-3e0e4cee3615&pd_rd_wg=Hzvhl&pd_rd_i=B07NPZ5VL4&psc=1
If you have EDS or other conditions and have pelvic troubles, I HIGHLY recommend seeing a pelvic physical therapist. I wrote about my experiences here. https://gay.medium.com/my-body-isnt-made-for-sex-anymore-3c4294d5f9e3
This $129 doohicky is similar to the Body Wedge linked above. I am unimpressed. https://lp.alethahealth.com/hip-hook-new-year/?utm_campaign=backorder&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=adwords&utm_content=test-b&gclid=Cj0KCQiA3smABhCjARIsAKtrg6LGg3b4iwctT3bEWc9T4OHiVXxTNBUHteC8iniI84O3cxz0qxVCKgIaAvpFEALw_wcB
I've considered these $130 shorts off and on for years. I think they'd just be too hot in Hawai'i. Plus I have to pee too much to struggle with getting these on and off every time. https://www.intelliskin.net/products/hip-alignment-3-4-tights
I've said it a few times in the comments but to reiterate, I am not a medical professional. I can relate my experiences but I don't advise that you try any of these without speaking to your EDS-literate medical professional.
One tool you probably already have at home is a broomstick. It can help with pelvic and back tightness as demonstrated here. I always forget about this one.
My favorite heating pad right now is this one from Pure Enrichment. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HYBPFCG/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&aaxitk=yQossO4QjZd2BkHScDj-hA&hsa_cr_id=4219908180601&pd_rd_plhdr=t&pd_rd_r=89ba326a-b542-4992-ad5c-645bc59e797b&pd_rd_w=WJMlV&pd_rd_wg=z1rSx&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_mcd_asin_1_img
I wish it was a lot longer, but it's nice on the shoulders/neck. One day I'm going to spring for one of those fancy infrared heating pads like this one. https://www.amazon.com/HealthyLine-Infrared-Tourmaline-Negative-Controller/dp/B07JLLSTVX/ref=sr_1_11?crid=2CJEIRP97IU8R&dchild=1&keywords=infrared+heating+pads&qid=1611883569&s=hpc&sprefix=infrar%2Chpc%2C828&sr=1-11
If anyone has suggestions or devices they're curious about, drop them in the comments and I'll add them to the thread.
Apollo's found this to be helpful. https://twitter.com/pumpkinspite/status/1354965152647405572
I bet this is SUPER comfy. I don't use cold therapy much- it makes me spasmy, but I LOVE heat therapy. This might hit all the right spots. https://www.amazon.com/Back-Pain-Gel-Pack-Degenerative/dp/B07XQGV5X6/ref=sr_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=back+pain&qid=1611883768&sr=8-16
Don't think I'm going to get the MagicGel thing linked above. It says it only stays hot for 18 minutes or so.
K. recommends this SI belt. https://twitter.com/mutant_robot/status/1354967970418745349
