hi!! i wanted to speak on something important. originally i was supposed to be a performer in the Manic Festival (@/manicfestival) but i decided to remove myself because of an uncomfortable situation that occurred. people began to call the festival out for their cover of “More”
by halsey citing it as inappropriate to cover, because of the history and meaning behind it. the members of the festival called this drama, and said people wanted to pick fights. i called the festival out and said i agreed that it would be inappropriate to cover More for a number
of reasons. they proceeded to blame me, telling me it’s my fault because i should’ve said something sooner. they then decided that because someone had already recorded it, they weren’t willing to remove it. because of the way they dismissed everyone’s feelings who were against
the cover made me feel uncomfortable, this is not something i can support. therefore, i decided not to participate in the festival and was quickly replaced. i simply wanted to speak out about why i removed myself from the festival!!
