On Sunday 01/24/21 I was informed that @Twitter had locked my account for allegedly breaking COVID-19 safety guidelines. The tweet in question was part of a conversation regarding the challenges of talking to older adults about misinformation online. 2/14

Here is a screenshot of the tweet itself. It’s a real story. I had to spend 45 mins on the phone w/ my mom easing her fears around a garbage nonsense conspiracy video about the Covid-19 vaccine that my aunt sent her. 4/14
It was wild to me that this strong and intelligent woman was upset by such insane claims by a fraudulent doctor in a Facebook video but we had a constructive convo & I knew similar ones were happening across the country 5/14
I shared this anecdote as a way to support other people going through the same situation, speak out against harmful misinformation, and satirize the nonsense fear-mongering that is out there, so imagine my surprise receiving this email...6/14
