Are you curious about how TikTok might monetize in the future?
A good example to look at what is possible might be how ByteDance currently does things at Douyin.

BTW, I'm talking abt Douyin official ways of making money. This does not have to do with any private deals you can set up with brands. This is stuff that Douyin has official tools for you to do. So let's get started.
First, you get 50% of all tips / gifts.
First, you get 50% of all tips / gifts.
If you join an MCN (agency), you may have to give up 5% for more access to exposure, deals, etc. (This is negotiable.) And Douyin will also give up 5%. But MCNs are very popular, and can be truly very helpful if they're good. Either way, you're at 45-50% of the revenues.
You can get another 5-10% from completing in-app missions. They are like game check-ins. Rewards for livestreaming 30 mins, getting $10 in gifts, for example. Do 50 hours over 15 days, get a bonus. Stuff like that.
Upping the difficulty is brand campaigns. In-app there's a place where you can pick a brand running a campaign for cash or traffic rewards. The brands I saw are mostly pretty big, like Carlsberg, Martell Cognac, Ovaltine, etc.
