Today would have been the 2021 Upfront Summit - it's hard to believe what a different world we're in.

We're looking forward to a 2022 event, but I'm reflecting on some of the past year's most memorable moments (at least the ones fit to share publicly!)

Hey remember when Reese Witherspoon explained the acronym "D2C" to @msuster? Informative!

I see virtually none of the content while it's happening, but after the fact I think this presentation by @Bill_Gross is one of my standouts - the climate emergency and how we can fix it:

With rain in LA's forecast, I'm reliving the, ah, dewy 2019 Upfront Summit. Our first speaker of the day had the worst rain, but that was fine, bc it's not like @staceyabrams is the queen warrior of democracy or anything. (she was amazing - standing o!)

Possibly THE most remarked upon speaker - @MellodyHobson (w/ @JasonHirschhorn) was incredible. Inspiring, engaging, lethally intelligent, great accessories. Watch if you haven't!

This super-smart convo w/ @jackiereses & @gregbettinelli is remarkably prescient with today's lens re: distributed teams, and how to build culture. (She ALSO had great accessories, actually):

Sure, THIS looks deceptively beautiful but the morning had epic, torrential, mud-slidey rains. At basically a campsite. The epitome of in-the-moment problem solving for 72 hours. But, every attendee was a trooper and it was a happy ending!

In light of ... Everything, probably worth listening to @DanRather in 2018 on the importance of uniting, not dividing, America.

Also, Mark's last q was "Dan, will you ask ME a question so I can tell my parents that I was interviewed by Dan Rather?"

During setup @warnerbros the night before, our incredible @RGLive_Events partner said, "I didn't think one Batmobile was sufficient, I got a second one" and honestly, that's kind of the Upfront Summit in a nutshell

In 2017, we added this pretty unknown small-town mayor as a speaker at the last minute. Wonder what he's been up to since then. Guess we'll never know.
