there seems to be some fatigue on hearing "Kyrie is shooting 50/40/90," so I'm gonna do a thread explaining the historical significance of it and why it is Very Fucking Cool

STORYTIME!

out of 4,374 total players, there's been only 8 players EVER to do it for a whole season in the NBA

In the history of mankind:

1st ever Unanimous MVP steph, his only season to shoot 50% from the floor

KD, the 1 time in that 5-year stretch he DIDNT win the scoring title

2/6
...which shows you just how hard it is to do on high volume

93-94 Reggie Miller (lead them to an ECF game 7)

Larry Legend did it TWICE. Good lord.

Malc Brogdon in his 3rd year playing next to breakout MVP Giannis

06' Dirk, master of one of the most unstoppable shots ever

3/6
Mark Price, who was the 2nd player ever to do it (after Larry), might be one of the most overlooked players in NBA history

Note: Elena Delle Donne is the only WNBA player to do it, and she hit 97.4% (SWEET JESUS!!!!) of her free throws

Last but certainly not least, the efficiency KING himself, Steve Nash. The dude did it FOUR MOTHER-TRUCKING TIMES. My pick for the greatest player EVER to not reach an NBA finals, this dude was the poster child for efficiency and was taking MVPs from prime Shaq and Kobe.

Simply put, if Kyrie continues to put up 28/6/5 on 52.2/42/93.5, it isn't some Weenie Hut Junior stat to scoff at.

its historic. Dito for KD.
