6 Quick Tips For Starting Your Meditation Practice.

🚨// THREAD //🚨
1. Take A Seat.

Find a spot to sit that feels peaceful and comfortable to you.

Ensure you are steady and in a position you can maintain for a while.
2. Start With An Accessible 5-10 Minute Practice Each Day.

Practice at the same time of the day ( such as when you wake up or before bed) as it signals your mind that it is time to be present.
3. Observe Your Body And Your Breath.

Firstly scan your body and note where you feel any sensations before following the breath as you inhale and exhale.
4. Notice When Your Attention Has Wandered.

Unavoidably, your attention will move away from the breath and stray to other things.

When you notice that your mind has wandered, simply return your attention to the breath.
5. Be Gentle With Yourself.

Don't get frustrated with yourself or get lost in the thoughts you find yourself having.

Just gently return your attention to the breath.
6. Finish With Kindness.

As you finish your session, gently open your eyes (if you decide to close them).

Pause and notice any sounds you hear, notice how your body feels at this moment, observe your thoughts and feelings.
