2 yrs ago, I was deeply depressed, anxious a/b keeping this secret from everyone. Feeling dark & hopeless.

Today, I was interviewed by my friends @headversity about the whole experience of personal acceptance, coming out & celebrating my identity as a gender queer person.

My point:

For anyone who is currently struggling right now, please know that it can get better.

- You'll find your voice again through your community.
- You'll feel new power in your authenticity.
- You will move past "hanging on" and get excited about your life again.

I'll add: There are far too many systemic barriers to getting psychological help and its incumbent upon all of us to speak with absolute moral clarity that everyone deserves mental health support regardless of their financial situation.

We will look back at the hemming & hawing about this issue ("it costs too much money") with embarrassment.

We can talk a/b the economic advantages of treating physical/mental health more holistically (evidence is clear) but this is about the world we want to build towards.

My #Canada of the future is inclusive, accessible and humane. Our approach to mental health should reflect this.
