I wouldn't want anyone in a leadership position (like President) who would work to enrich themselves or feed their own ego at the price of the people they're leading.

Yet we keep electing those people.
It's hard to find a man or woman who would put up with the rigors of a campaign - especially a Presidential campaign - who didn't believe they were a special butterfly and the best person for the job.

No room for doubt on the campaign trail.
But I like doubt. Doubt, including a touch of self-doubt, is a survival characteristic. I don't trust those with absolute certainty. It a science thing.

A person without any doubt probably isn't thinking hard enough about what they're doing and how to do it better.
...Or maybe just lacks imagination.

Let me revise a bit: those who are certain, without having investigated the issues thoroughly, themselves, make me uncomfortable. They're the ones who'll make the biggest, most costly blunders.
