‼️ Note: Spotify monthly listeners are unique listeners during a rolling 28-day period. Unfortunately, even if the same listeners tune in daily, they are only counted ONE time for the month. (1/3)
There would need to be new listeners discovering, or previous listeners (outside the 28 day window) rediscovering the artist in order for this number to climb again. This is why listeners climb with new music or new playlisting etc. (2/3)
Hopefully this brings some clarification about the ups and downs of monthly listeners. While we wait for new music, decreasing listeners is not something to be overly concerned about as long as streams are steady (and they are!) 👍🏼 (3/3)
