My take on the big question of whether the GOP in-fighting will amount to anything. Unsurprisingly, my answer is "nope". Republicans may believe there's a cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophiles, but they aren't stupid enough to demobilize and lose power. https://www.salon.com/2021/01/28/forget-about-a-gop-crack-up-republicans-rally-around-a-defeated-trump-because-they-understand-power/
Three things in life are inevitable: Death, taxes, and the Republicans are way too attached to power to let a little bit of intra-party conflict keep them from staying organized and voting. That kind of self-defeating flaw is sadly limited to the left.
Case study #1: Kevin McCarthy insinuated that he was going to give Marjorie Taylor-Greene a talking to for all the implied death threats and deeply immoral conspiracy theories. Instead, she got some plum committee assignments!
Case study #2: Meghan McCain, who talks a big game about how she's trying to save the GOP from its worst elements, but who continues to be married to Ben Domenech, a major backer and promoter of the worst people in the party.
Republicans don't demobilize. If the fascists in the party take power, the "moderate" conservatives will stay. They're crazy, but they're not stupid. They know that winning elections requires sticking together — at least as long as elections are a thing.
