It’s Girl Scout Cookie season. Please don’t refuse by saying “no thanks I’m on a diet”.

The last thing growing girls need are more messages that certain foods are off-limits.

A simple “no thanks” will do (or better yet, buy the cookies! And eat them! Or donate)
It's actually surprising (and disheartening) to me the number of people who would call out that they are "processed" and "unhealthy."

Even if true, it's missing the point: selling cookies teaches these girls confidence and life skills. The cookies are just a vehicle to do that.
Could they choose something other than cookies? sure. But I'm actually grateful the GS don't give "keto" or "sugar-free" or "fat-free" options. I think that would be a more damaging message in terms of relationship with food.
I will die on this hill: there is nothing wrong with processed food as part of your diet. In order to heal a relationship with food, we need to take away food judgments, and recognize that all foods can be part in moderation. Extremism never works.
Also, live a little. It's just a fucking cookie.
