Is that stupid protect the voter rolls bill hearing this afternoon?

#akleg
We can probably hazard a guess on which days PFD auto-registration voters are added to the rolls by looking specifically at the number of orig. registrations by day for undeclared voters with an empty voting history.
For July 18, 2019 theres 11,876 such voters.

But there's 3,639 U voters from that day who *do* vote. AKA the system worked there.

23% of potential autoreg's. Thats better turnout than some elections.
We also hear it clogs the rolls with bad voters...

only 7,881 undeclared affiliation voters in rolls from November are flagged as having no contact with DOE for four years and flagged for possible deletion in March.

Some counties in America deal with higher churn numbers.
AKDOE was gracious enough to Audit that sus BM2 to invalidate any claims of widespread voter fraud or manipulation so we're skipping that one.

No screenshot, free panda vibes instead.
We'll tackle the final two claims together, I think both are more Lt. Gov talking pts:

Voters are using different addresses.
Voters need to show some level of engagement.
AKDOE affirmed during the 30th session that they take good faith on addressing and that we have an adequate and straightforward update process.

Lt. Gov Meyer chaired the meeting where this was addressed, in case we're chippy about being engaged.

as for ALL of the mail/signature/name stuff: it's bullshit. Who is committing voter fraud via fax? fucking no one.

also, this bill would ask for name verification. So don't name your kid anything cool, lest they get disenfranchised.

More panda vibes. good luck with this one.
