I don't support shows, movies, books, comics, etc. created by Black people just because they're Black. That's the surface level, quick to say reason that's understood by people aren't racist assholes. Or have taken SOME time to work at understanding how white supremacy operates.
When Black folk say we're gonna show up for Black art even when it's not the greatest, it's because we understand that racism and anti-Blackness have tipped the scales unfairly against ALL Black art, and when ANY Black art "fails" as a result of this unfairness, said failure is
used as an excuse by the rest of the world to not support Black art at all. So we show up in an attempt to try and rectify that unfair balance to give these shows and books and whatever the even proving ground they deserve. We all know, those of us not in denial anyway, how this
works. We all know it's a rigged game. This is one way to combat that.

So the "only supporting something Black because it's Black is racist" responses amuse me. And show me that plenty of folk literally know nothing and are only here to try and call reverse racism.
