I was overweight, closeted and a workaholic… filling time to avoid looking in the mirror.  July 2017, I “rescued” this good boy. He gave me a new priority; a forced (+ healthier) work-life balance. He got me off the couch. [1/6]

I started to lose weight. It motivated me to start working out and focusing on my diet (🤯). I lost more weight. I started to feel more comfortable in my skin. This gave me the confidence to be more social and expand my circles. [2/6]

It gave me the confidence to be a truer version of myself. He showed me that even *I* deserved to be happy. It was the motivation I needed to jump out of the closet. [3/6]

Why am I saying this? Because in reality, (prepare for cliché) Zeb rescued me and kick started my road to better mental health. Without him, I’d still be on the couch, overweight, workaholic and in the closet. [4/6]

We all have unique journeys, this was mine and we all have our burdens… God knows, I’m still working on my own.  Just like Covid, mental health doesn’t care about gender, race, age, sexual orientation, etc.  [5/6]
