I’m here to vent, cuz I’m seeing a lot of memes about this stock stuff, but I think people don’t have a long term handle on what’s gonna happen here. So I’m here to be your debbie-downer and tell you why this all is bad

So let’s start with the secondary problem. No rich wall street guy is gonna lose their job or lose much money. They’ll be bailed out by a parent company, or bought out. This stock stuff isn’t a reflection of people power, because this isn’t revolutionary. It’s just the market

But my main problem is this. The tastemakers/trendsetters/leaders of Wallstreetbets are mostly ppl with a lot of money. 6 digits to 7 digits money. These are the ppl that make the wave, and have the knowledge. They’ve capitalized on this, and they’ll continue to...

capitalize on people who keep trying to get into this. But, stocks is all about making money on someone’s losses. Eventually the leaders, who r already rich (making 6 digits means ur rich idc), are gonna sell off all their stocks and crash the thing.

That means that all the people who got in late, those being people who got in off hype, are new to stocks, don’t know what they’re doing, generally with less money, will have their money wiped clean. Then the rich wallstreetbets trendsetters will make out like bandits.

It’ll take weeks/months for that to happen, but that’ll be the long term consequence on real people. So what’s happening here is wealth is being syphoned from the hyper rich (who’ll get bailouts) to the little rich, and ppl with little money keep getting ripped off by the system.

All in all, yeah it’s cool for a couple ppl to be able to buy their mom a home or get their dog a surgery. But a lot more ppl are about to get ripped off by the stock market, because the stock market doesnt work for the working class. Dont become a liberal cuz of reddit memes lol
