I really love this moment. It solidifies why Luffy is the best MC for me. Luffy’s entire dialogue with Blueno was great. He thanked Blueno that because he met him/CP9 he was able to become stronger thus being capable of saving his own friends.

When Luffy faced Aokiji he realised how weak he was & remember that this point is one of Luffy’s important moments in his adventure, he realised that he needed to become stronger to be able to save his crew which eventually lead him to Gear 2nd.
Luffy’s observational skills is amazing. He was able to observe & learn from Blueno’s techniques then applied them to himself where he eventually was able to overwhelm him with his raw speed and strength. Another example is Luffy vs Katakuri where Luffy learns observation haki.
As we read/watch we see how Luffy grows slowly as a captain, both physically & mentally from the obstacles he faces during his life and imo this is one of the best things about him. One Piece is a 1000+ chapter long story which gives enough & more room for Luffy’s growth.
