+ bearding, a celebrity getting a beard that is also another celebrity fails due to the fact that each of them have a career of their own that is show cased in the public eye. Interviews will be done, headlines will be make, and thus they are able to slip up or screw up the stunt

+ the middle. This got management what they wanted a little at the start, for the Larry talk to be discussed behind closed doors. The speculation grew to be something condemned in the larger fandom–the fans meeting them halfway and taking up their cause. But the conversation
+ didn’t die off. Management unwittingly legitimized the conversation because they gave it their stamp of disapproval. This was very ineffective because by they gave legitimacy to the speculation after disrupting and condemning the conversation from the outside.
Ziam: Ziam however went a little differently. As management never addressed Ziam rumors after blacklisting any kind of questions regarding it. Setting an image of both Zayn and Liam. Never minimizing their public interactions. Having slightly believable beards. And using the
+ heteronormative pattern to their advantage. Fans and public were secure enough to the presented heterosexuality of Ziam that management didn’t feel the need to do the same thing they did with larry. They didn’t need to put up a sign and scream that Ziam isn’t real because
+ people were already doing it for them. They saw the heteronormative pattern and knew the public would respond to it. And when the public did, it meant Modest didn’t have to do much at all.
