#mubb Kudos to @BenSteeleMJS for asking Woj about his decision to NOT take a timeout for the last shot. Woj's response was to run back the EXACT same play in the possession before because DJ got a dunk. THEN in the very next sentence recognizes that he is playing a PROV team who
mixes up their defense. I have several problems with this answer 1) To make a decision that is best for your offense based on the assessment of ONE possession, disregards the offensive struggles of this team as whole. This team struggled offensively for weeks, including this game
2) DJ didn't get a dunk in the possession before. DJ's dunk was in OT. The possession before, DJ turned it over passing it into the paint. Soooooo what are you talking about? What are you running back? You ran back a ball screen. That's not a play. It's a SINGLE action!
3) Lets talk about the idea "running the play back" Woj states the defense is mixing up their packages. So how do you come up with the idea that running the play back is whats best considering that you know that you aren't sure what defensive package they will be in. This is...
why you call a timeout! You draw up 2 plays based on what the defense gives you. This gives your offense a chance to attack the defense based on the package they roll out there.
4) Woj said he thought they ran a good inbounds play and got a good look. First, we haven't run a good inbounds play all year. We have to lead the league in Inbounds Turnovers. Second, we got up a VERY deep contested 3. Do we consider that a good shot now?
