Since female streamers often are targeted for harassment and in worst cases stalkers, I thought I'd share some tips for how to stay safe (retweets are appreciated). #twitchstreamer #twitch
This also applies to when you donate to someone (PayPal not subs/ bits). Your name will be visible to the streamer you donated to.
If you have an amazon wishlist that people can buy you things from, make sure you have set up a P.O box (FAR FROM YOUR HOME) otherwise people will get both your full name and address when they purchase stuff.
Be careful with what personal information you share. In many countries people can find you based on only name, location and approximate age with a quick search.
Make sure your email and username is only connected to stream related matters and not your personal life.
On that same note. NEVER share your stream on your personal Facebook. Since the posts are public they will be visible on your page even if your own profile is set to private. Your name will be shown if your username is searched on FB. I've seen this happen many times before.
Avoid using photos you use on Facebook on other social media. I've heard of cases of people being found this way.

Also make sure your photos don't include data of the location it was taken. This is a setting on your camera and can be removed.
Avoid taking photos or talk about things close to your home as this can narrow the search down for people. For example if you have a specific store that only exists in your area.
This has happened to me. Be careful who you follow and who you mention as your irl friend. They might not be as careful as you are and people can find you or your location through mutual friends on Facebook or other social media

Or by googling their name to get your location
This also applies to commenting on irl friends social media with your public account.

And following local businesses.
When talking about things that could be innocent such as the weather. Make sure that the weather is not only in your specific area. Some people are crazy detectives.
Of course this also applies to male streamers and I believe they should also follow this advice, but since in my experience women are in greater extent targeted by creeps and people with bad intentions, I focused on them.

I will add more if I can think of more tips.
