Interesting new results from @EchelonInsights Verified Voter Omnibus on impeachment and fallout from the Capitol riots. Follow along! 🧵
Support for various punishments for Trump over the Capitol unrest.

Barred from public office 57-35
Banned from social media 56-38
Censure 54-34
Impeach/convict 53-39

More people support the punishment (barring him from running for future office) than the process itself.
People on all sides will support candidates who denounced violence on all sides and stood with law enforcement. Very little support for candidates who praised the actions of the Capitol rioters (7%) or attended the 1/6 rally in DC (10%).
Among the reactions that elicited more partisan reactions, voting to certify Biden + avoiding praise of Trump and then voting NOT to impeach is probably a political plus if you add them up. (% more/less likely to support)
Among Republicans, % more or less willing to vote for a candidate who...

Supported LE 75-6
Denounced violence on all sides 63-5
Supported Trump 47-25
Voted against certifying 35-22
Said Trump responsible 23-48
Attended 1/6 rally 16-36
Voted to impeach 14-65
Praised rioters 11-67
Republicans are still resolutely pro-Trump. If his hold is weakening, it's doing so gradually. But the number of "Trump Republicans" vs. "party Republicans" hit a new low, at 38-48, down from an even split the month before. https://twitter.com/EchelonInsights/status/1347647388706611201
And more Republicans are willing to entertain the idea of someone else leading the party. Almost as many say someone else should be the leading voice for Republicans as Trump, down from Republicans favoring Trump 53-31 in November.
Moving onto the Biden agenda... he has an approval rating of 55% approve (33% disapprove).

But it's striking just how far down the list of voter priorities his first week EOs were...
Around 4 in 10 each say Biden's priority should be COVID, vaccines, the economy, stimulus checks.

Minimum wage? 15%. Paris? 12%. Forgiving student loans? 10%. Rejoining the WHO? 9%.

Significant risk for Biden here taking his eye off the ball on the pandemic & recovery.
