Can't believe we're still doing this nonsense, but since we are I have more questions. And reading material!

First, cities/regions bid with the support of their National Olympic Committee. (Not saying this is the best process. It's got all sorts of problems.) They do this seven years in advance, though Los Angeles - the next U.S. host - accepted the 2028 games 11 years out.
USOPC isn't backing this and put out a statement supporting Tokyo. Notably, it said, "We invite American cities to indicate to us their interest in hosting a future Olympic and Paralympic Games, and we are happy to work with them through the education and fact-finding process."
Let's, for the sake of argument, say Florida could skip that whole lengthy and expensive bidding process and get the Games. Do you know what it'd be signing up for, @JimmyPatronis? Here's an example of the principles behind the host city contract. https://stillmed.olympic.org/media/Document%20Library/OlympicOrg/Documents/Host-City-Elections/XXXIII-Olympiad-2024/Host-City-Contract-2024-Principles.pdf
Here's an example the operational requirements. Looks like a lot, because it is! Venues are, rightly, a big focus of what it takes to get the Games, but even if Fla. had them all, it's a Herculean task to arrange accommodations, transportation, etc.

That is why it takes years to pull this off. What is so special about Florida that we can make it happen in less than six months in a pandemic?
Let's say Florida could get the Games and figure all that out. How are we going to pay for it?
The Olympics generate opposition everywhere they go because they are expensive. Tokyo has already spent more than $25 billion.

The Games, almost universally, run over budget. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/305307721_The_Oxford_Olympics_Study_2016_Cost_and_Cost_Overrun_at_the_Games
The Olympics are so expensive that in recent years, more cities have dropped out of bidding than stuck around - often in the face of opposition. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/2017/08/07/future-olympic-bid-cities-could-find-process-less-expensive/546143001/

OK, let's say, all of that somehow worked out & Floridians were cool with shelling out billions in this economy, next problem is a big one - COVID-19.
Tokyo has had almost a year since Games were postponed to develop controls w/ initial plans expected to be announced next week.

How would Florida prevent the spread of the coronavirus? Even if we ignore the fourfold cases & fivefold deaths in Fla. compared to Japan (which is 6x more populous) - what's the plan to keep the Games from being a superspreader event that seeds infections globally?
This is not a serious proposal. I don't know how/if the Games will happen in Tokyo this summer. But they're not coming to the Sunshine State.
As @Bachscore points out, IOC president Thomas Bach said as much yesterday, saying it's "not possible" to move them. https://twitter.com/Bachscore/status/1354806214803132420?s=20
