Woah Robinhood banned trading of GameStop! I guess their market makers in the backend couldn’t handle the heat... Stock doesn’t even show up in app when you search for it anymore
Not seeing this covered in the press yet. AMC and BB also seem to be banned tickets. NOK too. Insane! Imagine if when Icahn wanted to do his Herbalife trade his broker said “nah.” This is one of a ton of reasons why decentralized finance is the future
Also side note, the way the media covers this drives me crazy. If it was Icahn squeezing all these other funds after finding out the stock was 140% short it’d be a genius legendary trade. Because a random online redditor figured it out (dfv) it’s a “market integrity issue” C’mon!
Maybe, just maybe the problem here isn’t the people who bought the stock after realizing this, but instead the folks who went short *140% of float*! Insane that the reaction is to just censor one side of the trade. People can go buy powerball tickets, let them buy GameStop!
