#Pakistan's debt crisis has even caused the seizure of a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) #Boeing777 at the Kuala Lumpur Airport due to #failure in paying an estimated $14mn leasing fee.

With no one to turn to but "Iron Brother" #China, with whom they have a Bilateral #CurrencySwap Agreement, #Pakistan has been left with no choice but to cede to China's demands in return for financial aid.

#China, meanwhile already has a firm grasp on Pakistan's finances, owing to what they term as the "strategically important" China-Pakistan Economic Corridor ( #CPEC) and has "expressed concern" over Pakistan's weakening finances, demanding " #AdditionalGuarantees".

With the next installment of #Saudi Arabia's loan due, as well as funds for a CPEC railway line stalled, Pakistani cabinet is now looking to mortgage #FatimaJinnah (F9) #Park against PKR 500 bn in issuing bonds, a high value "additional guarantee" to their Iron Brother, #China.

A supposedly strategic section of the Belts and Road Initiative, the failing country's #FinanceDivision has cited previous mortgages against international bonds as an explanation for the surrender of the Iconic Park.

The path on which #Pakistan is treading, surely one day, the #PakGovernment would mortgage the houses of its own people and soon the country itself.
