Anyone getting into scouting, or hoping to take their first steps into a club role, please remember that the line between 'getting your foot in the door' and 'doing significant amounts of work on a voluntary basis' is a very slim one. Equally, if you have a couple of (1)
Online courses under your belt, don't believe this automatically opens doors.

Strike a balance, work hard, network, ask questions, learn, progress.

It's natural to feel downhearted, or like others are progressing and you are stuck, but trust the process. (2)
You might see people in roles and are certain that your work is 100 times better than theirs. It might be, but let that drive you to your goal and not let it put you off your stride.

Everyone progresses at a different speed. Don't look at others plowing through reports (3)
And feel if you aren't doing the same that you don't have a chance. Put the time in that you feel you can, to make sure you don't suffer burn out.

Life is not as straightforward as some make it out to be. Dont let your progression towards a goal or dream career add to (4)
Stress of daily life.

Hopefully everything works out, and I am sure in years to come, I will be asking some of you reading this to give me a role at the clubs your are HoR, Chief Scouts, Directors of Football, etc., at.
