I think after Eren and Armin, Sasha was probably the only girl Mikasa was closest friends with (out of all the 104th).
I love the way their friendship was potrayed and developed throughout the story.

In a superficial way first, Sasha & Mikasa may be seen as a kind of comic duo, that corresponds well for Sasha as the light character she was introduced to be, but which is more suprising for Mikasa.
Mikasa was potrayed by a cold and taciturn approach out of Eren and Armin, but it seems like with Sasha, she has a natural ease, enough to playful out of purpose, which is unusual enough to be remarkable.
I love how Sasha brought out Mikasa's playful side basically from the moment they met. I feel like they could just be themselves with each other.
I like the dynamic of Sasha's feeling like Mikasa is way out of her league while intuiting, unconsciously, that Mikasa wants companionship.
Since their training days, when Mikasa stayed in that table, Ymir, Sasha and Historia left, we knew. That tiny moment showed us something Mikasa wanted for.
And let's not forget, that Mikasa betrayed Sasha not once, but twice.

Sasha's death was the major death. She let Gabi live as seeing her as a kid and paid with her life. I believe chapter 105 was truly amazing and well built.

Mikasa attended the funeral service held for the eight soldiers lost during the battle in Liberio. Afterward, she remained by Sasha's grave to continue mourning.
She holding her scarf, implying it's a symbol of not only her care and love for Eren, but everyone she's cared about. Ever since her parents were killed and Eren gave her that scarf, she's found new people to call her own, including Sasha.
Sasha was the only one who dared to slap Mikasa, HELP.
And Mikasa literally punched her in the face.
