I saw this last night, but walked away from the anger I felt about this message. No one with a caring bone in their body goes along with genuine transphobia. But some if not many of the young people Sturgeon is referring to here are a crowd of misguided misogynistic, intolerant https://twitter.com/nicolasturgeon/status/1354521063502336001
abusive kids I’ve ever seen in my life. The definition of transphobia that they and Sturgeon employ is so wide it catches every comment not in strict keeping with queer theory orthodoxy. So if I say I believe that men who identify as women are still men in actually fact, this
would be deemed transphobic. It is deeply worrying when the leader of a country gets involved in the gatekeeping of true speech and promotes a form of false speech or in other words, fantasy or lies. Speech matters. It define how we understand reality & how we form society. It is
also very concerning that Sturgeon did not speak up any of the multiple times women have been abused in a misogynistic manner, including two of her own, @joannaccherry and @JoanMcAlpine. Where was the condemnation then? In all honesty I cannot understand why a woman who claims to
be a feminist can be so short sighted so as to fail to see how the unchecked promotion of trans ideology harms women and girls. Furthermore where is her political instinct? She must know this contentious issue is harming her party, the government and the cause of independence. I
can only surmise from her stance that she is in thrall to parties the public cannot see, for reasons we do not know, or she is a true believer of gender ideology. In neither case, I’m sad to say, do I have any confidence in the abilities of a woman so weak in her thinking. Ends.
