We have sent out a student survey, not really knowing what will come back (I'm new in post). 18 hours after it went out - 1/3 responded already.

Initial themes:

- They are finding lockdown really hard
- Everything takes longer when working remotely
- Wide range of opinion about live vs recorded balance (we do a blend)
- They appreciate the wellbeing focus
- Some access issues have come up that we can now resolve
I am also really gladdened by the appreciation shown by students to their teachers and other staff. It really means a lot to staff to hear this. Perhaps schools don't give enough opportunities for this to happen.

There are issues that come out of course. This is part of quality assurance that is of benefit to any school, and we will be looking at all of the responses to improve things where they are not yet good enough.

Initial focus area for next steps: student workflow and balance of activity types. Although majority say our balance is right, some say there is too much, others too little. We will be looking at how we can improve further on this.

We are combining this information with:

- Class teacher feedback on each student (c. 30,000 pieces of data a week)
- Wellbeing tutor group sessions feedback (c.1,700)
- Parent survey feedback (350 responses and rising quickly)
- Contextual information we already have
That's a lot of data to work through and use in an effective way, but:

1. If you don't ask, you don't know.
2. If you don't know, you can't do anything about it.
3. No one person has all of the answers. Feedback loops are vital.
