There's a growing sense that the Scottish Cup won't be played to completion this season. The situation we're in and the precedent of last season make it all the more likely.
I've said this elsewhere, but this is potentially bigger news than most seem to acknowledge.

The team deemed cup winners this season will enter Europe next season in the playoff round for the Europa League. Given the new competition, they are guaranteed some form of group stage football. That's going to make a real difference to that club financially.
We have Aberdeen and Kilmarnock going public recently with regards the loans they may apply for and some financial difficulties. Hardly anyone is spending any money, and the effects of the pandemic are further reaching that way than would have been predicted.
The winners of the cup may very well come from the top 3 in the Premiership, but there's no guarantee. If they suspend the cup again, that spot will be given to the 3rd placed team in the league. If they can win that playoff, the Europa League cash would be massive.
The Europa Conference League cash will almost certainly be impactful as well, even if it's as low as 50% of the EL cash (nothing confirmed just yet). Losing the playoff drops the team into that tournament.
Imagine the eventual cup winners haven't qualified for Europe otherwise?
