friendly reminder that YOU CAN WAIT UNTIL APRIL 15 TO MAKE YOUR GRAD SCHOOL DECISION. Not April 14th, not as soon as you get the offer, APRIL 15th! Here are a couple of reasons why
(1/6)

1. There may be more
. You can compare packages (i.e. uni A is giving you $$, uni b is giving you 5k more, but you really want to go to uni A) so you either bring that offer back (respectfully) or u ask what fellowships you are eligible for to offset pay differences (2/6)

Not so guaranteed, but some schools (cough UCI) have recruitment fellowships that are in addition to your stipend. re: diversity fellowships, deans scholarships, awards for undergraduate achievement. These are added in as a sweeteners (3/6)
2. Grad school is a huge decision. Nobody is going to take the offer back and *nobody* should be pressuring you to make a decision. Disclaimer here though is that if you are abs sure ur not interested in a program, do let them kno so tht space is opened for another student. (4/6)
3. W/ that last point, don't be surprised if an offer comes rolling in a bit later then others. I received a spot from a uni in early March with award money, which led to more
offered at my current institution (wouldn't have been able to accept if I accepted another offer)

All in all, don't let folks bully you into making a choice, bc it will happen. Be honest and say "While I thoroughly enjoyed my time during interviews and Uni x is in my top choices, I am taking time to make an informed decision" You got this

Want to circle back here and point out again that it is also very important you keep in mind that you are occupying a seat if you have an offer, so if you are sure you are not interested, do give the seat to another deserving student
