LET'S TALK ABOUT NOTES (giving/receiving):
First, huge shout out to @cruzwriter for giving me 16 months of her life to help make Godlike what I hope it will be. It's getting doper by the minute thanks to her professional notes.

I've said before that my entire screenwriting education has been writing and rewriting Godlike. Everything I know how to do and my attitude towards my "darlings" derives from that work.
I got my last round of notes from Denise, and it confused the hell out of me.

Everything she said I didn't do, I literally thought I had done. Turns out I hadn't, but getting there took some listening.
I asked her about it. (If you have questions about notes, please ask. And readers, please be available. This experience has been invaluable to me.)

Because you can't be precious with your scripts. When a reader expresses a script need, and can be hard to think about changing the story you're so close to. But you have to do it.

What can I do to make this script undeniable? How can I stop people from saying no and force them to say yes?
So I put the first act out for more notes, and I'm looking forward to getting absolutely crushed.
Whatever it takes, I will make Godlike a yes script.

Readers: Your job is to help turn a no script to a yes script. Be honest with the writer, and offer solutions.
Writers: Your job is to write a yes script. Be honest with yourself and listen to the hard advice. Be willing to tear that shit down.
Good luck and happy writing.
