THE EGO IS THE ENEMY

The ego is your mind's monitor, your self perception, and your biggest enemy.
It is that little voice inside your head that convinces you... one way or another.
Wanna talk to a pretty girl? Well too bad, your ego thinks you're a little bitch and youâll get rejected.
Looking to start a new business? Well your ego thinks youâll drive it into the ground.

The ego is how you see yourself , or how you think others appear to see you. Most people donât realize the flaw in this one-dimensional perception. Just think about it⊠chocolate doesn't taste the same for everyone, it could taste different to me than it does for you.
This principle is the same with the ego. Your ego sees you differently than you are, and it fogs your self-perception. Your ego is your past self wanting to stay the same whether that's to remain high status, or comfortable. It keeps you static in a forever changing world.
You donât want to be stuck in a rut, living the same daily, monthly, or even yearly routine. Never actually living that âidealâ life you desire.
The ego is what makes us self-conscious, its women's vanity, and man's insecurity.

The ego is the knowledge of good and evil; it's the forbidden fruit Eve was tempted with. Itâs what makes us human.
Your ego is not you, Your thoughts arenât you. Only YOU are YOU. To help illustrate what Iâm trying to say, Iâd like to point to a famous quote

âWhat is meant here by saying that existence precedes essence? It means first of all, man exists, turns up, appears on the scene, and, only afterwards, defines himself. If man, as the existentialist conceives him, is indefinable, it is because at first he is nothing.
Only afterward will he be something, and he himself will have made what he will be.â

We all have an essence about ourselves. Essentially this âessenceâ boils down to: Things we do that make us who we are.
So if âexistence'' precedes ''essence`` then we can choose who to be, and that choice defines who we are, not what our ego tells us.

Our ego has determined much of who we are up until this point. The simple realization that you're not your thoughts is what will FREE YOUR MIND.
This also means you must consciously choose your thoughts.
This is no easy task, and donât expect to master it in a matter of days.

Most people stay defined by the environmental factors since birth. They hang on to the indoctrination theyâve been fed a steady supply of.
You see the ego is almost like a tape recorder. Whatever you record, it plays back.
This is why you must train your mind.

No negative self talk, or shitty Hollywood garbage.
We instead are the masters of our own reality and define who we are.

The ego is a tool. It keeps us in place or it lets us know when to step in, and define whatâs rightfully ours. Itâs been a mechanism for survival and has served us in our small hunter gatherer tribes.
Since we no longer reside in these tribes, we have the capacity to transcend our ego and consciously define our reality.
