Aggressive Simmons to start the game. First in transition with a grab and go, then going right off the catch for the dunk.
The LeBron-Gasol connection is on another level, just three plays, two of them back-to-back. James knowing he has a passer like Gasol in the high post really is allowing him to unlock the cutting aspect his game.
A week or two agoI highlighted a clip or two of Embiid missing Simmons underneath the rim. He tries it here but does not make the execution but him seeing it is start. If/When he makes this pass, it will put defenses in a tough spot having to figure out how to double him.
AD is a tough cover in the face up game but this play is over the moment Simmons reaches for the ball. Davis is too quick to give this up.
Harrell cannot guard Embiid, this is a terrible match up for him. It forces the Lakers to double and with Embiid becoming a more a willing passer leads to a Korkmaz three.
Great pass from Kuzma in transition, no one would've said anything if he took the three in transition, instead he attacks drawing Simmons away from LeBron which opened up this pretty dish.
Just a great example from LeBron providing help right as Simmons catches the roll pass.
You cannot telegraph your coverage against LeBron, he will take advantage of it, Simmons shows too early that he wants LeBron to go off the screen. James sees it and rejects it.
Embiid and Simmons almost connected on this one, Simmons just missed it but good to see Embiid is looking for him.
This is a solid defense from Harris on AD, just stands him up and doesn't reach.
Defensively, your job is never done. Thybullie is watching the ball move instead of rotating and Matthews gets a wide open three. Got to keep moving as the ball is moving, once Maxey goes, he has to to go cover for him.
And they finally connect on the Embiid to Simmons connection. It will be a great thing for Philly if this happens two or three times a game. Also, note Danny Green with the Charlie Ward cut (cutting to the strong side corner), he made a killing off this cut for years.
After a terrible first half, Schroder has gotten going. Here just drives on Green for the and-1. The big thing is him being able to take a couple possessions off LeBron's plate goes a long way for the Lakers.
Embiid's agility just makes it so hard to push up on him the way AD is doing here, he gets by him and finishes with a beautiful and-1.
Huge hustle play from Caruso, if the Lakers come back to win this game this is a big reason why.
Could see this play coming as soon as LeBron caught it at the elbow. GREAT screen from Schroder. Green has to give a bump, can't give AD this free run.
This is just tough, Caruso is just not tall enough and once Harris gets into his spot it is his shot to miss.
Really fun game Sixers got to get tougher down the stretch, can't give up those offensive rebounds leading to threes down the stretch.
