@thereidout has a young (44 year-old) commentator reflecting upon her experience with the Republican party. She seems to suggest at one point in time the Republicans were honorable in the area of race relations. I'm 65. The Republicans have ALWAYS struggled with race.
Their sense of white privilege is an eternal underpinning of the Republican party. The rage we are now seeing has been there, under the surface for 200 years. It is a shame, an embarrassment, a travesty. It's been like a boil, festering, in need of exposure and release.
January 6, 2021 was the day the boil burst and the ugly pus and blood and pain was exposed. The only way that boil will heal is if we condemn those responsible for inciting that seditionary response to a legal, lawful election which resulted in @JoeBiden being elected @POTUS.
