Received submissions from eminent scientists on the urgent need to reduce CO2 emissions. We must heed the science not climate deniers!

I represented coal and power workers and earned a living as a fitter at Liddell power station. I know the importance of good, well paid jobs to mining communities.
I understand the concerns of workers and their families. They must be supported not lied to by weak politicians.

The inevitability of decarbonisation must be managed effectively and with sensitivity.
We must ensure long term financial security, retraining and new jobs for affected workers and their communities. This would cost less than inaction and environmental disaster. Labor must lead!
