So a positive thread, with the important caveat we didnt win and would have wanted too.
1- We hung in for a draw. We didnt do that against West Ham, or Leeds. It means weve still dropped as many points as them. They have European football to contend with soon.
2- We have a return of 4 points v Leicester, this is very credible. A big reason why it's not is a GK error. Pickford generally played very well, and there extenuating factors, but it's a poor mistake.
3- DCL/Richarlinson are not fully match fit. They are giving their all and that sharpness will come. Also missing our first choice midfield 2.
4- Davies has been excellent tonight, and in general this season. You can see the work Carlo is doing with him, in terms of defensive positioning. Hes learning from an excellent midfield player and starting to use his brain.
5- Alongside him, Gomes was also good. His 50 yard switch hit for the goal is sublime. Hes starting to go past people with the ball too. He took it in tough areas tonight.
6- In spite of the commentary, we looked ore likely to win it once it went 1-1. 3 good chances off crosses. One of those nights where they dont go in.
7- That back 4 has conceded 3 goals in 6 games. 2 in 6 in open play. Rock solid and we have a manager smart enough to know that, and build from that.
We have not post ground in Chelsea. Gained on Villa, Southampton & United. Given how tough the fixture was, that's not too bad. (End).
