Question for armchair psychologists: why might someone feel averse to *affecting* or intervening in the world (whether on accident, or intentionally)?
I experience some sort of discomfort/embarrassment/regret any time my own opinions/judgements get noticed and/or taken up in some way-- but shouldn't I maybe *want* that to happen?
Maybe it's an aversion to making "judgements" at all? Or to telling other people what to think or do? Or to the "arrogance" of thinking I know or can do things better?
Somehow I'm much more comfortable with the idea of "figuring out how to peacefully co-exist alongside the (separate) world" than I am "decide what's wrong with the world and actively try to fix it"

and this seems silly. What gives?
