actually i feel like talking about why i stopped doing palaeoart completely for a moment.
if you have been following me for years you might remember that i started out making mostly dinosaur plushies but completely stopped doing so by now but why?
it´s just not accesible to me.
there are a lot of reason but honestly despite how exhausting a part of the community is it boils down to the inaccesibility of it.
palaeoart is expected to be as scientifically accurate as possible which sounds great until you realise what that means for someone like me
english isn´t my first language. not just that but i´m also neurodivergent. i have dyslexia, can barely focus, have memory issues and just overall a bit of a spicy brain! that makes reading absurdly hard. not to even mention paywalls
and that´s especially frustrating when you regularly have people leaving comments on your work ciritzising the smallest things. i had people complain about tiny plushies lacking dew claws. meanwhile no one has ever commented on the inaccurate number of toes on my toads
and even more frustrating when the people just try to flex their huge brain meat on you and have no actual intention of educating anyone or providing helpful resources.
i don´t have the time and energy for that
there are also parts of the online palaeo community that are straight up hostile or unsafe. that being said i met some of my best friends during that time and i know there are many lovely people and spaces and i´m glad for that. i just personally can´t deal with all that stress
