Science agencies must designate a Chief Science Officer and a scientific integrity official.

This will ensure stronger science leadership in more places across the government--a factor (we know from scientist surveys) predicts how agencies fare on scientific integrity.
Effectiveness of Agency Scientific Integrity Policies will be reviewed by the White House OSTP.

This is a huge chance to assess and learn from what went wrong under Trump. How can we better protect science and scientists from political interference? Lots to study here.
A Taskforce on Scientific Integrity will form to conduct the review, which will foster input from different places across the government.

The Taskforce is something that @UCSUSA (led by @UCSJacob!) asked for. Glad to see it happen.

Importantly, the review process also builds in opportunities for public input, a relatively rare opportunity for scientists, public interest groups, and anyone else to provide direct feedback on protecting the integrity of government science.
Lots more details here, but let's not forget the big picture.

This is a huge move right out of the gate for the Biden administration. We have work to do, but this sets the stage for years to come. Science and scientists now have a chance to shine. Let's celebrate that.
