Questions

How you can legally print money

By asking unquestionably great questions in your copywriting

// THREAD //
Why do so many advertisers ask you so many questions?

Why did I just ask you a question about questions?

Simple

To get that wonderful brain of yours going
You see, what’s so cool about questions is that they demand a response

Even if someone you dislike (e.g. a sleazy marketer) is asking you a direct question, your brain will start coming up with an answer whether you LIKE IT OR NOT
We are prisoners of questions

But does it mean that every stupidass question will put food on your copywriting table?

Hell no

There are 2 rules

Let’s look at them now
1ST RULE:

Your questions should provoke only the answers YOU want to hear

“Are you ready to go on a 30-day cruise to the Caribbean?”

NO

I am not ready & and I have no idea when my wallet, my luggage and I will be “ready”
“Would you like to visit 11 Caribbean islands while having the time of your life on a 5-star cruise ship?”

YES

Someday for sure, I mean, who wouldn’t? 🥂
2ND RULE:

Your questions should be either:

- YES / NO questions

- CURIOSITY questions

- INSPIRATION questions

Let’s go through each one of these
YES / NO

You want questions in your copy to ignite stupidly obvious answers

They should make your reader go “oooooooooooooo YES”

None of “but” “although” or “that being said…”

YES OR NO, end of story
Example:

How would you answer that question if not with a giant simple “YES SIR”

(If your answer is any different, you need to grow a pair)
CURIOSITY

This kind of questions are all about the mystery

What’s crucial here is that your little secret should be impressive

You’ve got one shot at catching the attention of your audience, so don’t blow it
Example:

Everyone respects a Rolls-Royce

But almost nobody has ever driven one

That makes its inner details only more intriguing
INSPIRATION

Your goal here is to provoke the reader into daydreaming

Every one of us has some unfulfilled aspiration

Some more common than others

Identify it & ATTACK
Example:

This question targets a vast audience

Probably 99% of people want to have a “Million Dollar Smile”

The global tooth whitening market is worth $3.5 billion, so yeah, pretty big audience
Those are the rules
