A thread of an HU student after reading Herodotus Book 3 for the class assignment: "It actually saddens me that Blacks in Classics are hardly talked about. Come to think of it this is the first time that I’ve read Black skin has been described as rich especially dark skin.
Its interesting because in society now, people degrade darker complexions. It makes me think that if Blacks in Classics were talked about more often we would have continued to view our skin (all complexions) just as beautifully.
I know several Black people that grew up feeling insecure due to their complexion. But, back then ebony skin and chocolate were considered rich. It goes to show how much our voice in history matters."
