Photos shared by @anadoluimages showed on May 20th that a visibly intact Pantsir S-1 system was being paraded by militias thru the streets of Tripoli after the pivotal battle at Watiya Air Base. I believe it was this unit that the article mentions.

The article above tells how a USAF C-17 transported the system out of Tripoli, Libya & flew it to Ramstein. This particular flight description matches what I made a thread about in regards to the June 5th flight of USAF C-17A 10-0215 #AE4D68 using callsign RCH147 to Libya.

C-17A 10-0215 #AE4D68 did not return directly to Ramstein, however. It made a trip to Ankara, Turkey the next day. This flight had data openly transmitted via ADS-B signals that could be seen on @adsbexchange. What they were doing over in Turkey is unknown.

What I discovered after the post back in June was that I had posted the data on the 2nd of 2 trips made by C-17A 10-0215 #AE4D68. It's first flight to Libya was actually on the 3rd of June and stayed overnight, returning to Ramstein on the 4th of June.

Going back far enough, we can see that the sortie of USAF C-17A RCH147 10-0215 #AE4D68 started off flying from it's home base at JB Charleston, SC on the 23rd of May, a mere 3 days after the Pantsir S-1 was paraded thru the streets of Tripoli, Libya.

As such, C-17A 10-0215 returned to JB Charleston, SC June 7th, the day after flying to Ramstein. Once the Pantsir was delivered, the article doesn't mention where it went after.

In ending, I want to thank @Simon85205764 for bringing the @thetimes article to my attention.
