Data from @VanIslandHealth shows that the number of new #COVID19 cases in Cowichan Valley South, where Cowichan Tribes is under a shelter-in-place order, is still high with 74 recorded last week. According to @VanIslandHealth there are 204 active cases of #COVID19 on Vancouver Island: 153 in Central Vancouver Island, 37 in South Vancouver Island and 14 in North Vancouver Island. The @CDCofBC dashboard shows 220 active cases.

Looking at the number of Covid tests in the @VanIslandHealth region, we can the average number of tests are levelling out at around 800 tests per day. The big drop over the holidays was when testing criteria was further restricted.

Meanwhile, the positivity rate of #COVID19 tests in the @VanIslandHealth region is at an all-time high of 3.7 per cent using a seven-day rolling average. This is the result of a combination of increased prevalence and more targeted testing.
