The key to understanding Wolf 359 is that Admiral Hanson is responsible for engaging the Borg there. He was central to the plot. But why Wolf 359? This is key.

The first thing to know about Wolf 359 is that it is a REAL STAR, named for a German Astronomer, Max Wolf, who discovered it in 1917

This is a location we've seen before: at the founding of the Federation! It was the exact spot hit by the verteron array deployed by Terra Prime.

Terra Prime had undercover agents in Starfleet, including Ensign Masaro on board the NX-01.

Of course, the Terra Prime leader, JF Paxton, had high political connections, as he succeeded his father as director of the Orpheus Mining Colony on Luna. For that matter, Minister Nathan Samuels was known by Capt. Archer to have been a "former" Terra Prime member.

(As an aside, "Paxton" seems to have been the SAME MAN as both Admiral Marcus, head of Starfleet, as well as a 21st-c experimental cyborg known only as "Robocop". It is not clear how this person survived so long and amassed such power; more research is needed)

The upshot is: by any standard, the verteron attack which first hit the Wolf Crater WASANINSIDEJOB. If one wanted to launch a second, even more devastating inside attack on Earth, where better than another of Max Wolf's discoveries?

But Max Wolf found hundreds of space objects. Why Wolf 359 in particular, you might ask? It has a convenient location, only 7.9ly from Earth, but things are never that simple with the Federation Deep State.

Now, you might think that Q was nowhere to be seen in Earth's history prior to the events of Farpoint Station, so that there couldn't be any connection to the Terra Prime conspiracy. But he sure knows a lot about Earth governance and military ops to be a new arrival.

He's either Q himself, posing in human form, or a Q agent/puppet. In any case, as the Starfleet admiral in charge of anti-Borg operations, he was the perfect person to sacrifice the entire fleet to the Borg. Which he did.

(Oh, and, in case you didn't notice, Q's favorite human plaything, Picard, was assimilated and led the Borg cube's attack at Wolf 359 after giving them tactical data. With Hanson on the other side, Q was playing both sides of the table. It was a foregone conclusion)

We don't know Q's endgame. But we do know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he has enlisted (sometimes without their knowing it) a cabal of deep-state agents. We need to take down these traitors and Make the Federation Great Again!
