There's a young woman in my family who is very active on Facebook. She shares *everything* about her life - and thus everyone else's, indirectly. She's very angry about a lot of things. No one says anything because she will say very terrible things publicly in response.

Things which are not always true.

So we all tiptoe around. Try to avoid pissing her off. We can't stop it - no one, from me to her own mother, has any influence. She has a powerful tool and she's not interesting in ... dulling the blade.

She will say *anything*. And because she happens to have the same family name as my mother, there's no real hiding it and in our small town, everyone knows who she is talking about when she mentions her "grandmother".

So my mother puts up with crazy shit.

And I am under strict orders not to go over there and "have a talk" with her, which I have offered to do several times. "Will only make it worse".

Watching these Republicans slunk around reminds me how much power narcissists can have over people. How destructive it is.

How combined with social media, it's singularly toxic.

I mean, it's killing America in real time.

One day, and not long from now, I *am* going to go over there. And the shit hitting the fan story that arises is going to be *legendary* in our family - one way or another.

P.S. I'm sure you mean well, but I'm not asking for advice. It would take too long to tell you all the things we've already tried and done over the years, the number of suggestions we've fielded.
