Tonight, the culmination of Vučić's complete remodeling of the bohemian area of Belgrade, a ridiculously large statue of the 1st Serbian king Stefan Nemanja is unveiled. Part super-spreader event part nationalist cosplay convention, it sends a troubling message.
The Bosnian Serb member of
Presidency Milorad Dodik spoke - forgetting that Belgrade lies on not one, but two rivers - and mentioned the "unity of Serb lands," stating how people in the RS "look in the direction of Serbia" and that "Serbs now fight modern battles for unity."

The national public broadcaster RTS has a bunch of images showing the size of the crowd and the best view of the monument: http://www.rts.rs/page/stories/ci/story/124/drustvo/4237574/stafan-nemanja-spomenik-otrkivanje-beograd.html
President Vučić said this monument proves Serbia belongs to the "Byzantine commonwealth... there is no bigger nor more beautiful monument in the Balkans, it is huge so that everyone will see it and through it see us, it is upright and proud because we should not be ashamed."
Technically, Stefan Nemanja was a "Grand Prince," but as founder of the Nemanjić dynasty, he is considered to be the first ruler of equal magnitude as that of a king. The realm was promoted to a kingdom proper with the crowning of Stefan Nemanjić in 1217.
