Flashback to the day we broke the news that the Trump White House was preparing state-by-state reports on the pandemic that it refused to publish....
Well today, the Biden administration published them! And here they are! https://beta.healthdata.gov/Community/COVID-19-State-Profile-Report-District-of-Columbia/snyw-dezt

So far it looks like they just have the most recent round of reports up. You can find more than 700 of the old ones in our Document cloud trove: https://beta.documentcloud.org/app?q=project%3Ared-zone-reports-50664%20
And a reminder that the underlying data was made public in December, is updated daily, and is very useful for national and localized glimpses of the state of the coronavirus pandemic https://twitter.com/l_e_whyte/status/1354450254825984003
For months I badgered state and federal officials for copies of these reports. (It's pretty nice to be out of that job now.) Some shared them; many did not.
In the meantime, many local journalists used the copies I obtained and wrote about the state of the pandemic they revealed, as well as the information bottlenecks that resulted from their secret status. https://kfor.com/news/ok-health-officials-gov-stitts-office-withheld-white-house-covid-19-report-recommendations-from-public/
The info in these reports was and is important. It can help people know whether it's too risky to cross state lines to visit relatives. It can help them know whether federal experts agree with the mitigation measures their states are taking. Etc etc. Glad to see it in the open.
A good thread on the back story of these reports & their importance: https://twitter.com/rypan/status/1354510497131810818
