15 years ago I started posting my income online, it was such a weird thing The New York Times did a full-page piece on it.
That concept has now iterated into a cool trend called #buildinpublic where people start a project and document every step, and often income numbers.

It used to be sharing through self-hosted blogs, now it’s through social media:
Some accounts I've watched #buildinpublic:
• @PaulYacoubian building http://Copy.ai
• @jackbutcher building http://VisualizeValue.com
• @dvassallo building http://DVassallo.com

The GOOD things about sharing publicly:
• Helps create an audience
• You look like an authority
• People engage with you
• Opportunity to sell/promote the product
• Expose your thinking to others and possibly get partners, employees, investment

The BAD things about sharing publicly:
• 99% learn from you, 1% blatantly rip you off.
• You give away some of your secret sauce.
I've definitely experience the good and bad. However for someone JUST STARTING OUT, it seems #buildinpublic is a fantastic starting point!

Are there any other examples of good #buildinpublic people to follow you can share???
